History:
Ever since he heard the stories about his father being a Huntsman and a detective, Lock dreamed of following in his father's footsteps and become a hero. Lock lived with his grandfather, sister, and mother in a small village in the woods far north of Vale, where there is moderate Grimm activity. Like all of the other children in the village, Lock made a sword and started training in the woods at the age of ten. By age thirteen, Lock had become adept in swordplay and an expert in tracking and strategy, developing his personality as a detective of a sort. It was around this time that his sister, Sapphire Noire, suggested the idea of finding his semblance. After a few weeks of sparring matches, Lock accidentally activated his semblance, giving him increased perception in his left eye. Overjoyed with the discovery of his new ability, Lock and Sapphire planned a celebration. Later, Lock and Sapphire heard news of beowolves migrating near the village. Lock soon realized that his mother had gone out into the woods to find fresh water for the party and became horrified of what might happen to her while she's out there. Lock and Sapphire headed for the river where their mother was headed, but when they arrived they were already too late. Upon arriving at their destination, the children witness their mother's death. A beowolf had slashed at her with it's claws and she died from the shock. It was at that moment that Lock's eyes turned yellow and he flew into a berserk fit of rage. Lock slaughtered the pack in the blink of an eye with a roar the echoed for miles, leaving Sapphire to watch in shock and breaking his sword from the force of his own attacks. After his rage passed, Lock knelt next to his mother's body and began to cry, cursing himself for not getting to her sooner. Sapphire holds her younger brother and they both shed their sorrow together. Four years later, Lock had learned how to harness his semblance better and prepared to set out on his journey. Before he left on his journey, Sapphire made a coat, shoes, and gloves that had Dust sewn into them. She named the clothing combo the Vormund Set. Lock said farewell to his sister as he set out for Vale in order to learn how to become a Huntsman. Along the way, Lock met a traveling gunsmith and made a deal to work for him in exchange for parts to make a new weapon. Using the parts he selected from the gunsmith, Lock made a high-powered handgun named Ritter. From then on Lock traveled to Vale with the gunsmith, doubling as a bodyguard and an assistant.

After being trained by his mentor and sister, Lock has developed himself as an expert fighter in order to live up to his father's legacy. During his training, Lock learned how to properly use a sword and how to rely on martial arts in case his weapon was unavailable to him. Being a "Speed Type" fighter, Lock uses quick and precise sword attacks in order to overwhelm his enemies and uses his speed to close the gap in distance. He also uses his agility and speed to block and counter his opponents. When he is in battle, Lock switches the way he holds his sword: A reverse grip for a pure, quick offense and a double handed grip for a solid defense. When he's not using a sword, he uses the techniques of Jeet Kune Do and Savate
